My final qualifier ticket this year was on Woodlands View in Droitwich and despite there being 180 anglers booked on you got to go there positive.
I went there with a plan to fish positive, worm and caster on 4m, a margin line and a shallow line. You are not fishing for section prizes in this match you are fishing to win it so I always believe a firm positive approach is the one that will reap the best rewards.
Anyway it was a glorious day weather wise and spirits were high at the usual pre match banter commenced in the café.
The draw que formed and it was huge! So I joined somewhere in the middle and dipped in and pulled out Back Deans peg 60. Not great and 4 pegs away from where I wanted to be
But headed on up there and hoped for the best. With this number of anglers, ever peg was in on Deans and it was a nightmare. Room was at a premium and although I still went out and attacked the peg you just knew it was going to be a struggle with so many lines in the water.
Bites were had to come by on all methods and I only managed 3 carp and a few silvers for my efforts.
Fisho will have to wait another year!
Some pictures below will give you an idea on how crowded it was on there, but never mind onwards and upwards!
Well done to Andy Powers on getting to another big money final
(1) Andy Power 147 Arles 35
(2) Warren Martin 135.2 Ghost 2
(3) David Woodworth 126.4 Barley 20
