Well the story for me so far in this league hasnt been too great to be honest, round 1 I drew peg 4 on front deans. It was a bad day all round, I fished after not having any sleep the night before due to a close family relative being seriously ill and my mind wasnt on the job at all. I fished it as it was the first round and didn't want to drop out of the series, but it was a tough day made worse by torrential freezing cold rain. Needless to say I came 5th in the 6 peg section with 4lb.
Round two I drew front deans again this time peg 10 and had a lovely days fishing, I caught 105 small roach on pinkie for 10lb 6oz which was second in the section and was a lovely days fishing.
Round three was a very cold day and we had a significant snowfall in the night to the point where I didnt think I would make it out!
I did though and drew Deans yet again, this time 56 in the middle of the back bank. It was a tough day for everyone though and I weighed in t 2lb 4oz to beat 3 in the 6 peg section.
Round four, I was hoping and praying for a draw off deans and on Arles where the best of the silvers fishing is to be had. I did manage to get off Deans for a change but on to Ghost in the teeth of a very strong wind gusting from left to right. I caught 4lb 4oz of tiny (and I mean tiny!) roach for last in the section.
Well done to my Browning West Midlands team mate Jordan for winning the match off Arles with a superb 16lb bag of Skimmers.
So 2015 hasnt been very kind to me as yet, it is winter fishing though and it can be cruel at times with some days really testing your sanity! Still there we are, Woodlands has some superb silver fishing sport to offer and despite not doing well in the league am still looking forward to the next round.
