We were back on the Avon a few weeks after the delightful Chippenham match, but this time lower down around Newbridge.
The league was again the Commercial House and river was in good form with a decent level and nice tinge of colour to it.
I drew down the bottom end around the pump house and thankfully had one of the more comfortable pegs at the cow drink which meant I could get down and into the water safely.
The stretch here is deep and you need to set up top 5's for your pole rigs. I set up two, both were Desque 3g floats with olivette and couple of droppers. I also set up a feeder rod for a few chicks on the far bank and a waggler.
I started on the pole line and whilst everyone else opted for the Pole in the rest and bombardment of Jaffas I gently cupped in my groundbait which was mixed quite heavy due to the depth and mixed with hemp and casters.
The 13m Pole line was may main line of attack and so that proved through out the course of the match. I did try the waggler and feeder but the Roach kept coming to the Caster on that line despite a huge amount of boat traffic. I ended up with 9lb of Roach and Skimmers for 3rd in section and a
